The first entry for Nintendo’s Short Cuts contest has shown up on YouTube. The aim of the contest is for someone to create a short Nintendo-inspired movie so they can win the chance to have it submitted to a film festival. So what’s the first thing someone comes up with? A history of the Legend of Zelda, set to music and with pictures and videos still bearing the IGN logo. There isn’t even a voice over; just some sparse subtitles. Whoever made this obviously spent a fair amount of time on it, but there has got to be someone out there who can do better than this. If someone were to submit something that they filmed themselves, it would already be a step above this one. In other words, independent filmmakers out there, get up and out-do this entry.
