Football Manager 2011 Tops UK Sales Chart
It’s no secret that the Brits love their football. The PC games sales chart is always slightly skewed by The Sims and profusion of sequels and sales packs, but it’s still impressive that Sports Interactive’s ultra-hardcore management simulator is currently tenanting the top spot.
The success of FM ’11 really demonstrates the idiosyncracies of the PC market, a strangeness much beloved by many of the platform’s devotees. That a game with a huge profusion of spreadsheets (one that didn’t even have 3D graphics to represent games until 2009!) can outsell even a high-budget, gorgeously rendered title like Shogun 2 is certainly worthy of pause.
