Four Gameplay Videos Showcase Dark Souls 2′s Character Classes

Like its predecessor, Dark Souls 2 offers a host of classes for players to choose from—four of which have been showcased in a series of videos that have appeared online by way of Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu.

These four classes include the Warrior, the Temple Knight, the Sorcerer, and the Dual Swordsman. Each of the classes appear to be unique in their armaments, equipment, and range of attacks.

In the videos, the Sorcerer and the Temple Knight have a tough time dealing with what appear to be some of the game’s tougher foes, which include a heavily armored knight in turtleshell armor, and tall armored knights that appear to be made up entirely of edges. The Warrior and the Dual Swordsman have a much easier time of it, and make short work of some of the game’s easier foes. Watch them below.

Dark Souls 2 carries a March 2014 release date on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Instead of simply waiting for the game’s release, why not check out our interview with Game Director Yui Tanimura?

I know that this is only four minutes of game play to comment on but I sure hope there is better than this to come.

dat particle effects system. Wow. And the character motions are so smooth and natural- and did I see the Warrior strike with his sword AND shield at the same time (presumably for added momentum)? Nice. Someone did their homework on fighting. This is looking SO good right now :D
