Four New Games in the Works from Tim Schafer’s Double Fine, and None of Them are Brutal Legend 2

timmy schaferI’m sick today, so I’m gonna stack a bunch of Tim Schafer quotes here from the Develop Conference in Brighton so as not to strain my meager creative muscles. Take it away, Tim.

“We got a phone call from a publisher saying, ‘We’re not going to do a sequel to Brutal Legend.’ My fault was that I had not prepared for that, so we did not have a project ready to go.”

The folks at Double Fine then pulled together a pile of ideas, like good creative people do. Hit the jump for the rest.

“So we picked the best four took them on a roadshow and showed them to publishers.”

“In a couple of months all four games got signed. So we became officially a multi-project studio. Trying to kill us made us multiply.”

“Some of the games are downloadable, and some are retail.”

I like the idea of XBLA and PSN (assuming that’s where the downloadable titles will end up) Schafer games, because I think his brand of humor, which is fantastic, will work better in smaller titles. Just so we’re clear, I just said that I like something.
