Four-Year Leader of 500-Member WoW Guild Usurped After Unexpected Absence

There was some hubbub on the World of Warcraft forums when a concerned parent brought to light a story regarding a 17-year-old guild master that was kicked out of his guild after four years of running it.

Allegedly, after an unexpected absence due to financial difficulties, the teenager was kicked out of his 500+ member guild by an officer who requested of Blizzard the leadership position, along with over 200 members who protested the takeover.

Conflicting reports from the concerned parent and a Blizzard investigation put the teenager’s absence somewhere between 40 days and 3 months in duration. The guild was given to the officer after 30 days, as per Blizzard policy.

The concerned parent has requested that an exception be made due to the teenager’s years of service to the guild and extenuating circumstances, but public support seems to be backing Blizzard’s policy.
