Free CryEngine 3 SDK Passes 100K Download Mark

CryTek certainly have a generous bone in their body. Not content with releasing a full suite of Crysis 2 mod tools, they made the entire CryEngine v3 SDK available to the public — you can even download it from GameFront’s fast, free servers!

Though companies that sell games using the engine will have to share 20% of their revenue with CryTek, the decision to put some of 2011′s sharpest graphics into the hands of anyone and everyone reflects extremely well on the German development studio. Now that more than 100,000 people have taken them up on the offer, look for the first independently produced CryEngine 3 game to hit store shelves sometime in the not-too-distant future.

New SDK game engines =/= good gameplay. Less someone completely remakes the gameplay in Crysis anything people pump out will be over graphics .
