Free Portal 2 DLC Drops on Oct. 4 with Single-Player and Co-Op Challenge Mode

Remember back nearer to the release of Portal 2, when Valve said, “Free DLC will be coming out this summer?” This year, summer ends on Oct. 5.

Because on Oct. 4, which is Tuesday, we’ll be receiving free. Portal 2. DLC. Here’s a clip from Valve’s press release for the pack, called “Portal 2: Peer Review.”

In “Peer Review”, you and a friend will continue the story of loyal bots P-Body and Atlas as you puzzle your way through a mysterious new co-op test track and once again match wits with GLaDOS. The DLC also features a single player and co-op Challenge Mode, and leaderboards to compare Challenge Mode scores with friends and the Portal community.

Now, let me be the first to say, “Hell yes, Challenge Mode!” The absolute best part of Portal 1 that was glaringly absent from Portal 2 is coming.

Steam users will get the DLC downloaded automatically to their accounts. Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 players will have to sign on to their respective online networks and download the DLC there.
