Free-to-Play MMORPG Neverwinter Goes Live

The Dungeons & Dragons-based MMORPG, Neverwinter, is now available to the open public after months of beta testing, Cryptic Studios has announced.

“We here at Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment are thrilled to announce that Neverwinter is now live! Neverwinter is a completely free to download and free to play MMORPG, featuring sixty levels of content, as well as the Foundry, a tool that allows for a potentially unlimted amount of user-generated content to be created and published directly into the world!”

First announced in 2011, Neverwinter is now available directly from Perfect World’s website or through partner sites, including our own. The game is exclusive to the PC and requires anything from Windows XP through Windows 8.

To mark the release of the game, the game’s developer Cryptic has added the Gauntlgrym endgame event, which pits a group of 20 players amongst themselves in both PvE and PvP combat. The team which emerges victorious will unlock an exclusive dungeon filled with top-tier rewards and enchantments.

Now that the game is out, the developers are not resting on their laurels and are instead at work on the game’s first expansion, Fury of the Feywild, which adds a new zone and a host of new features.
