Free-to-Play Shooter Firefall Looks Like Tribes: Team Fortress (TRAILER)

Free-to-play MMO shooter Firefall looks pretty damn cool — you have wings, it can switch between third- and first-person view modes, and it’s cel-shaded, which is always cool.

Check out the official trailer below, which Red 5 Studios just chucked our way. You can sign up for a beta invitation at firefallthegame.com, but it sounds like there won’t be an official “release” for some time on the title. Instead, Red 5 is going to be handing out beta invites all the way through December to make sure the game can handle all the players. Come December, though, the in-game store will be online and Red 5 will do its last character wipe, so that’ll be around the time that the game is probably “officially launched.”

This looks awesome, and I’ve been following it for a while.

I’m interested in the Tribes gameplay with PvE combat and a large, dynamic environment.
