From Dust DRM Going Away

Ubisoft claimed before From Dust‘s PC launch that it wouldn’t require a persistent connection to the internet to play, and technically that’s true. But the game does require you to connect once at the start of your game session in order to play, and so the effect is basically the same.

But that’s about to change. Here’s an Ubisoft forum manager delivering an official statement about the game’s DRM:

Our tech teams are working on a patch that should release in approximately two weeks that will eliminate the need for any online authentication.

Yay! A victory for people who like to play games on an airplane!

Does it matter, though? The PC version sucks anyway.
