Gabe Newell Spotted at Subway (PIC)

Thanks to the inescapable Jared Fogel, the international sandwich chain Subway has something of a weight-loss cache. While we at GameFront are loathe to add our voices to the “OMG LULZ GABE NEWELL IS A FATASS” chorus that is so pervasive on the Internet, it is nice to see the Valve head tucking in to a tasty sandwich, rather than, say, a Big Mac.

We wouldn’t, after all, want health problems to affect Valve’s upcoming projects, especially Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2.

There’s one nice thing about this picture. It proves that even game development bigwigs must confront that thorny question: how to eat a sandwich and use an iPad without getting it covered in mustard.

He reminds me of “Pearl” from Blade 1. A little makeup…hell no make up needed just put him on a bed naked and you got Pearl!

That chair is about to give out.

As is the skin around Gabe’s gut and neck.

You just know when he’s done with that sub, he’s going to order another. The first is just an appetizer. Then he’ll probably buy another one for the trip back. Someone buy this man a Wii sport or Move champion and force him to play it. I only care cause he makes great games and I’m selfish that way.

His main reason for stopping in there, is for all of Jared Fogle’s old fat clothes.

It amazes me how people can be so cruel and heartless when they post things on the internet. It is easy to criticize others from thousands of miles away behind the anonymity your monitor and keyboard provide. It is not so easy, however, to overcome the direct consequences of your actions. (In other words… Gabe may struggle with his eating habits, but heartless posters must suffer by living with a whole other animal – themselves.)

Being that overweight is self inflicted. His hunger for food is no stronger than mine. I get the munchies at night too. Sometimes I overeat and gain a few pounds but then cut back and maintain control. If you overindulge anything-videogames, watching TV, working out etc can be harmful to your health. Controlling your weight is a relatively easy thing. There is no secret, no magic formula. Everyone knows what they have to do-eat a little less and exercise a little more. Food is not cocaine. When you’re that overweight you just don’t care anymore. Total slob and don’t give a damn. I would never make fun of someone who is suffering due to something that is out of their control but this is self inflicted and to fix it is not overwhelming. SO cruel and heartless? I don’t think so. Or else I wouldn’t do it. Anthony S is just too much of a wuss. A taliban hugging, lets discuss about everything and cry about it hippie.

This guy is a deable specimen of a human being. I’ve met the guy in real life, and he is as disgusting as he is in pictures, perhaps more so. He had stains on his shirt literally 24/7 for the week I was in town and he smelled of rotten pig meat. Everyone could smell him from at least two booths away. There needs to be laws in that country against having people like this walk around in public.

Also I’m pretty sure Jared lost weight by EXERCISING and NOT eating ing meatball-rib sandwiches.

Regardless of what the cause of his weight is, it doesn’t mean you should belittle the guy. Everyone has their vices. This string of comments is one of the most sickening things I’ve ever seen on the internet.
