Gambitious: A New Crowdfunding Platform for the Gaming Industry

With the recent controversy surrounding Kickstarter’s use in the gaming industry, now is an opportune time to shed some light on a new crowdfunding platform, one designed specifically for the industry: Gambitious.

CEO Paul Hanraets said:

“Unlike other crowdfunding platforms, Gambitious is designed specifically for the video game industry and ups the ante of developer credibility, investor engagement and development cycle understanding.”

Developers need to submit detailed business plans to qualify for listing on Gambitious, and those who fund the projects can receive dividends based on their initial investments.

Wilson said:

“Crowdfunding is the best thing to happen to indies since shareware in the 90′s and Gambitious is a transformational way of funding the video game market – legitimizing, protecting, and maximizing the opportunity for all that want a stake in the game.”

Kickstarter has done wonders for the indie scene, but if and when its bubble bursts, it would be a shame if indie devs didn’t have somewhere else to turn. Now they have a place designed specifically for them.
