Gamefly Adding Unlimited PC Plan This Winter
GameFly is a great service, particularly if you’re too poor to buy every new game you want to play. And boy are GameFly’s offerings about to get a hell of a lot more appealing. They’ve announced that they’ll be unleashing upon us all a new unlimited PC games plan that will allow subscribers to download an play PC and Mac games, which is a killer idea, and really the only piece of the GameFly puzzle that’s been missing.
The new download client will go live for everyone this holiday season, but they’re having a beta starting in September. You can try to get a beta invite here.
You have to wonder just how many games they’ll be able to line up for this. You’d think most major publishers would see a plan like this as a negative to their bottom line, so I’d guess you won’t see a pile of new AAA games in there. Still, it should be interesting.
