I have 4-6 on Steam, haven't touched them yet because I am looking for 1-3 first, or is this a Star Wars thing where it randomly starts at 4 so a random reason why can be made up in about 20 years or so?

While there is an underlying narrative, for the most part you don't need to play them in order. I think the main reason Spiderweb is only offering the 4-6 is that there was a change in the visuals as well as how the game is played, making the overall experience a bit better.

Yeah, the main reason I want to play the first 3 is I think the first Avernum might be a game I played a while back and have been searching for for a bit now. Thanks though, the first 3 seem to be on gog.com maybe I'll pick them up there :)

I like the Geneforge series better, but Jeff Vogel is a brilliant writer, so I strongly recommend anything from Spiderweb Software.

Hmm...So, on Desura we can hаve Avernum 4-6 for 12$ and on Gog.com there is Avernum 1-6 for same price? Isn't it strange?

Verily, verily. However, remember that with Desura you also get the downloadable versions of the games along with the community.

Its pretty same with GOG, doesnt it? DRM-Free downloads and community. Anyway, i deasnt want to blame nor Desura nor GOG, they both doing great, its just looks strange.
I would understand it, if there was Linux builds (GOG dont offer anything for Linux), but as is its better to purchase on GOG.

Overrated Series.Copy and paste all along with their other games they did.its like the RPG-maker games.all the same.... And please,no visible equippement on the chars :( dont make me laugh.........6.5 in my eyes, still good game cause the story is 8,the rest like4-5,but lacks alot of things.they should spent more time on one game instead producing the next one.

It's not overrated. Each title gives hours and hours of pleasure to the fans. How can you think it's overrated just because you don't enjoy it as much as they do? Their love of the titles is genuine, therefore they are not overrating them, just stating their true feelings. Comparing them to rpg maker games is a slap in the face and I think you should take it back- these games are coded from scratch.

Hey now. I've seen some awesome games made on RPG maker. Don't be too rough on it.
