It's a pure dogfight map; No infantry mode, and therefore it is strongly advised to use,
as soon as possible, jets and helicopters.

The MountainsDogfight1.rar file can be unpacked, where you want: then you must take the file
"MountainsDogfight1" and include it in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels:
Do not be frightened by the weight (421mo) of the map; It's just the result of using very detailed textures; no more !
The relief of the map was created, starting from DEM
coming from the north of Italy (Digital Elevation Model);
Then covered with a texture made from aerial orthophotos.
And therefore, the landscape you are going to fly over in the game, therefore exists really;
And to be more precise, it is a region situated on the border between the Garda Lake
and the south of Italian Trentino: If you are curious, you can find it via Google Earth.
Finally, we have a playable space of 1024x4, suitable for air flight, and surrounded by a similar terrain, in many points of view: therefore 12 km x 12km; Furthermore the map is parametrized to allow aircrafts to fly extremely high, much higher than the mountain peaks, here 2145 m
In the solo mode, you have access only to fighter planes: in the coop mode, you have access to the planes but also to two of the helicopters: in the conquest mode , you have, of course, access to all the vehicles: For a good balance, there are at disposal, 10 helicopters and 12 planes, which allows almost to about thirty players / bots.
That's why each mode has only the 32 players version

So the cockpit view becomes panoramic and makes it easier to follow the positions of the opponents: immersion in the game is then greatly improved.
There are still a few artifacts in spite of the care taken in the realization of the map, problems inherent to the game itself: since this is a 1024x4 map, you will have to remove the dynamic shadows in the video options, Ugly spots characteristics: something else, do not be surprised if the bots tend to be suicidal in the mountains, I have failed to tam them; You will see: Lol!
