It's not simply a matter of turning it on and off, sadly.
The ai are controlled by a network of dozens of invisible pre-placed paths, areas, and points, and the ai scripting has to be imported to the map manually. If the vanilla ai won't work on a vanilla unofficial map it's because these things haven't been added or have been added incorrectly.

Hundreds of lines of if/then statements that tell the AI when to do. Extremely complex. But, they're all prewritten for vanilla generals, so all you have to do is import a file into the map

INIZH is the .big that contains all of zh's ini files. When you open it, the list of ini's on the left is a list of text files inside of the .Big. to make your own .Big, use finalbig to create a new .Big and put whatever ini's you want in there. Put a zero infront of the .big's name so that the game will see it. Ini's are just text files, big just contains them. You can also put other files in there such as textures models and sound.
