But Sadly this game crashes on Windows 10. And it seems that it has no developer or fan support, rely odd since it runs on Unreal engine 2 and I had no problem with other games running on that engine.

I am able to play it on Win 10 64-bit. What i did to get it working is change my Devastation.ini file (located in documents > Devastation ).

Once you open that file you want to search for "ReduceMouseLag=True" w/o quetes and change that to False (ReduceMouseLag=False is located UNDER [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] ).

Note that you should change all instances of it to false.

Optionally you can change your render device from D3D to OpenGL.
To do that, under [Engine.Engine], search for ;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice, and remove the ; at the beggining, and add a ; at the begging of RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice.

If ;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice is not listed there, copy and paste it without the ; and add a ; at the begging of RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice .

Also, you should try running the game with and without compatibility mode and/or admin privileges. For me it works without them.

      Hope this helps.

I don't know what to think about this game, because the gameplay is pretty good and simple; though like most early 2000 FPS, most levels lacks of interactivity aside of picking up certain decorations ...
There is nice level design even if it tends to not offer much possibilities to the player as some sections are way too linear. There is a great number of weapons, but in an other hand they are a lot redundant, I can take for example the pistol and smg class who does pretty much nothing than having different power and clip size, no function added, nothing, hopefully the later weapons are a bit more interesting, but the game seems to be afraid to offer rocket and grenade launchers to the player (which would be better than some of those redundant pistols)
Some weapons also acts weirdly like the bolt sniper, the belt MG and such not specially weird, but the bolt action have to reload after every shot, while the other can't be reloaded unless it's empty ...
The first part is quite basic, while the second part is a bit close like the assault mode from tournament, except that two bases have to be defended and conquered. The game also introduce respawn in a sci fi way, so destroying enemy's machine will make you win sections and levels.
The game offers few funny weapons, but they are here (rat drone, laser rifle, bolta) they have the merit to be there and be fun to use.
The AI however is quite awful, and it was more awful before being patched.
It's not great after the patches but the game isn't bad.
An other thing is that there is no bot for multiplayer, considering how the AI was made (jumping rabbits in the pre patches) I think it could have been enough for trying MP.
This game needed more development time I think, it may have been a great game. And even if the story is fairly standard dystopian future with dicatorship, it's quite standard FPS story. Just good enough to be the story of the game.

The game is actually great, I agree that the sp part is pretty sucky...
But the mp part is better than most other games out there.
And it utilizes the best engine there is at the moment ( still waiting for doom3 and HL2 engine).
    Single player is masturbation.
