"Close To The Sun" reminds me of Bioshock. I am not sure if that's good or bad.

Ok this is kinda weird, the guy with the guess account comment was talking something about deleting comments and its actually true, at least if you logout from your account you will see some comments with "pending approval" which yesterday was free to the public...

Good to know... i just want to say... trolls will be trolls and good people will be good people.. you know the comments that really just not aporting something value for this forum, for my opinion you are most like a creative director rather than a video game designer, what im trying to say is: you have a strong narrative and imagination but was limited in the final product due game desing resources at your disposal(programmers, time, designers, etc) so i suggest for you next project try to make a game keeping in mind the strongest part you have and not just graphics or game mechanics(a point & click adventure will be terrific and makes you shine the strongest part you have(story telling,director,etc)... i think you did a great work here (its your first game!!!) Cheers up!!!

Right now I'm working on a more "gameplay first, gameplay second, story third" project with other people and I'm thinking what other "story-driven" game could be made (plus figuring out what kind of gameplay to use), even if the story also ends up being hated by the extremely vocal "oh-so-anti-SJW crowd" even if I am not a "SJW" but someone who simply likes certain types of genres, and the stories that interest me don't usually fit their criteria.

I'm also switching to a different engine for various reasons including trying to avoid any comparisons between games. For example, while it is true that Enola was made with the same engine used to develop Ethan Carter, it is also true that the guys behind Ethan Carter have 10 times the talent and experience than anyone I'll find in my country at the moment.

Smart move, actually UDK is harder than unity, for me unity is the best option for indies with low resources, i heard that ue4 its c++ with some visual scripting but the learning curve doesnt worth it. Unity is kick ***.... Hey i have to admit i got interested on your new proyect, when will be released? can i have access to beta? photos? more game play than story?

Actually to me UDK was easier because I am not a coder but I know how to work with PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and the Unreal Kismet is very similar to working with those.
For Unity I am learning this tool Playmaker beacuse it's also similar to working with PLCs. My problem is, since I am not a coder, I can't know the sintax differences between A and B programming language (and I'm too lazy to learn), so more visual tools are better suited for me.

I don't really know when the "gameplay first" game will be shown, because we would like to have something playable but also somewhat cool-looking (even if it's so-so quality and not final quality) so people look at something more than cubes moving around the screen. I think early 2015 is a safe assumption. The original plan is to develop that one using UE 4, but it may change and we may end up using Unity for that one as well. We depend on multiplayer functionality, and other things, because it will be a multiplayer-only game.

The "story first," not sure because that depends on how fast I can learn Unity. All I know is that it will also have a female protagonist and that it may end up being some sort of point and click / action-ish adventure game, if the combination of the two plays well. I'm hoping to have a small proof of concept for early next year as well.

Just one ATM, the multiplayer game. That one has some pretty basic stuff implemented, and we're building on that (different game modes and all that, to stay away from the regular deathmach, capture the flag or king of the hill).

The other one needs a story first, so I'm just learning Unity and making a few experiments while I figure out what the story could be, so development for that one will begin in a few months.
