Krater is a real-time squad based dungeon crawling game. The game combines fast paced combat, tactical squad management, crafting, and questing all seen from a classic RTS perspective. While the game’s campaign can be played offline, the Co-Op expansion adds the opportunity to tackle hours of specially designed online Co-Op dungeons and bosses. The game brings you far into the future of a post-apocalyptic Sweden. Once home to IKEA, Vikings, and Minecraft, today its primitive inhabitants scavenge the broken overgrown world for technological artifacts.

Apart from the save system and the fact that the French translation is incomplete, I like this game!

What i dont get is, why is this Game that "overrated" here at Desura but got heavy critics from all over the Internet and also on Steam with a Userrating from 7.4 and a Metascore of 54/100? I bought it now with the Bundle, hope it is funny and cool. But it is kind of interesting how Games are rated this different, from epic fail to godlike. And it is not just Krater, there are other Games with the same case.

Boils down to updates. Game had a buggy launch, but developers tackled the issues with patches.

I think a lot of people here appreciate things differently to an extent. We have a lot more modders and designers in this community that look for a myriad of different things in their game, often appreciating new stand out features or elements in design and effort rather then just how smooth the game play is. We can understand that new release's can often be buggy if not properly tested and may overlook the now and rate for the potential.

that is because when krater was launched it had lots of bugs, and for that, lots of people gave lots of ...guessed right... bad ratings. Now its all nice, shiny and likeable, but people who once where eager to rate it down didn't go back to metacritic to update/review/change their bad ratings and so this old smell sticks even tho it no longer fits.

Official review sites can't change their score on metacritic, Gamespot had an issue where they had a freelance writer do the Planetside 2 review and submit it before they checked off on it, long story short once a score is submitted it's set in stone.
