Taking place nine years after the events of MGSV: Ground Zeroes and the fall of Mother Base, Snake a.k.a. Big Boss, awakes from a near decade-long coma. The game resumes the story in 1984, with the Cold War still as the backdrop, which continues to shape a global crisis. Snake’s journey takes him into a world where he is driven by a need for revenge and the pursuit of a shadow group, XOF.

    And I jizzed in my pants. I can't believe that I like this game very much. Usually I'm not hyped when comes to video games these days, but this one is unique (maybe it's because I was waiting for MGS to come on PC since MGS2)

      Fans of stealth games say it sucks because the AI are brain dead, and fans of open world games say it sucks because there are no civilians or life in these big maps, with alot of arbitrary closed off areas like not being able to climb mountains. Online is basically just something for Konami to make more cash so that we buy "insurance" on our bases in case players end up going in and trashing the place after we spent so much time building it. Collecting **** is fun yeah, the story is weird but thats kind of the point. Buddies might be good in theory but the bland stealth ruins the gameplay, so that only going in guns blazing provides any real challenge and fun. Essentially saying that the only thing that makes the game great is music and graphics, thats hardly praise worthy and the story won't win any prizes any time soon but it certain keeps the fans happy so I guess theres that. MGS has really gone down hill and well I can't really blame Kojima for being sick of making these, its basically just a way to milk the fans with microtransactions now once he comes up with a decent story. Setting a pretty bad precedent for future open world games and stealth titles, that they can be this bad at it and yet still sell well.
