Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption

In Star Wars: Empire at War, players controlled an entire war for the Star Wars galaxy as the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire. Now, they will face off against both of them in Forces of Corruption as a brand new third faction. As Tyber Zann, players will stop at nothing as they seek to further the sinister agenda of the Zann Consortium and become the most notorious criminal leader since Jabba the Hutt. With all new tactics like piracy, kidnapping, and bribery, players can control the shadowy forces of corruption in their attempt to rule the Star Wars underworld.

    I keep trying to enjoy this game, but nearly every mechanic has something bad about it. For space combat there are better games. For Star wars there are only a few games like this, but they are out there and better.

    No land combat is comparable atm, and that mixed space/land grand campaign is definitely out of the bag....

    so I guess it's got something going for it. Just neither of those two things are good.

    Eugh I wish this game had half the spirit that SW: Rebellion did (it's obvious heritage)

    Does mod db even allow that with that disabled comment section in the alliance mod? Espiaclly with the whole 3rd site thing going on with it too?

    I have a good Idea for a mod but its not story or anything just kinda base mechanics and stuff the rant begins here
    1. Shields, Proton Torpedos should do alot more damage to shields
    2. Hardpoints, To remove a large amount of frustration just make the hardpoints untargetable. Instead of Barrage after barrage hitting a destroyed hardpoint. make it so every shot actually counts.
    3.FOW, The Fog of war is just a deterrent to fighting and a reason to autoresolve . It slows gameplay. The only time I think FOW is justifiable is during Corruption tasks(Kidnapping, Etc) Or raids. but if you have a Sensor node it just reveal an actual LARGE amount of the FOW or if you have a fleet in orbit. there should be a FOW.
    4.Balancing, Sometimes when your playing and you dont fight the enemy in a while. They either spam HUGE amounts of cheap units. Not really annoying unless is bomber spam. but if you could fix recruiting on the AI side to make it a bit more fun and challenging
    5.Economy, I hate it that you have to dedicate entire planets to mining facilities to keep a sustained amount of income. So maybe they could have certain buildings (Credit to Thrawns Revenge or ICW) A Tax collection Agency for the Empire and maybe Warbonds for the Rebellion.
    6.Tech, Each faction can basically crush the enemy with Tier/Era/Tech 1 Units. So if there is someway to make it so as your tech improves your soldiers need to evolve, Maybe a Retraining or something facility that allows you to buy soldiers of one more tier for a discounted price if you have the unit (Ex. You have a Tier one Stormtrooper squad, But your reach Tier 2. Now they have debuffed health and Damage, Instead of selling and making new units, Make a Retraining center (Or somename) IT takes that unit if on the planet and turns it into the Exp. 2, but it doesnt cost the full price.
    7.Faction abilities, If your the Rebellion or Empire your not special and its overwhelming to fight the consortium with there Corruption ability. You cant decide or not to fight back in a kidnapping or another task.
    This was just too maybe inspire some Devs to adding these features ingame. Please do give criticism or reply. IT'd be cool if it could be incorporated into a actual mod.

      1 already in mods and is easy to code
      2 possible but alot of work and destroying space defences and bigger ships would be a pain
      3 fog of war actually speeds youre game up because if you can see all enemies move that would take alot of memorie
      4 takes alot of coding and would not work most of the time
      5 as you mentioned already done so you can take that as a start
      6 that is only possible for advanced modders and it would take along to create
      7 this would take a long time to create but it is possible

      a cool idea for a mod but alot of work is needed for it

        I agree with what you said, for the number 7 it could be cool to find a way to make special missions for empire or rebellion, where as the rebellion can do raids, and activate special missions on each planet, if succesful, it would disable some or all of the special buildings from spawning garrison (i.e Bribery for consorptium), or raid the space station to make a way for the space forces. Don't know what the empire could have though.

        For Emperor palpatine, Or darth vader. Something called " Subjugation " Which is like a Raid but a bit more scriptered, You have to destroy etc. to unlock the path to here, then kill this guy to subjugate and etc. For space heros, Piett and Thrawn, They can go On Strike missions, Where they can attack the fleet without the station.. For a more Aggressive and 'Challenging' Fight. Love the name btw.
