GameStop Announces Pathetic “EXPO” For 2 Days Before PAX

Good lord. We beat up on GameStop a lot in these parts. Overpriced. Bad service. Anticompetitive. All of these are true things to say about them. But it almost feels too easy mocking them for the thing they’ve just announced. But, OK, I’ll try anyway. This summer – August 29, to be precise – GameStop will be hosting their first ever gamer fan event, Expo, at the Houston convention center. So, a GameStop convention. In the hottest part of America. In the hottest time of the year. Two days before PAX Prime in Seattle.

So, yeah. To go you already need to be a PowerUp Rewards member. Standard admission is $35 bucks, but for $100, you can get the awesome ‘VIP’ pass, which gets you “four in-depth sessions with some of the biggest names in gaming, access to VIP-only lines and entrance to the VIP gaming lounge.” That’s a really great deal considering how important this event is going to bahahahahahahahah. Sorry. I just can’t do it anymore.

Anyway, this is probably going to be a thing worth doing for people who already live in Texas and don’t mind paying $35, or $100 to experience the awesome GameStop experience in convention format. The rest of us will probably fail to notice it even happened. Because we’ll be in Seattle.

LOL, yeah I absolutely scoffed at this when I first heard about it a few days ago. And the only 4 developers that will be in attendance are:

Namco Bandai
Square Enix
Warner Bros

And the expo is only THREE hours long for general admission, and FIVE hours long for VIP. *facepalm*

And… yeah. Good luck. Also, August 29th is a bit late for many college students, and kills a lot of their audience, especially if it’s a toss up between PAX and “EXPO”.

If GameFront’s review of Diablo 3 was this scathing maybe it’d actually have been worth reading. You guys have the balls to attack Gamespot, who can’t really harm you, but you have no guts to attack Blizzard for creating a huge flop? That’s pathetic and cowardly, I must say.

Clamsarehot, maybe Diablo 3 really was a B+ in the final execution. But if you’re concerned about our balls, does this make you feel better:

Because I can assure you, CJ wouldn’t have given D3 the review he gave it if he didn’t think the game deserved it. because we think that launch was bull.

When CJ plays through Inferno and reads my comments here, and updates his review accordingly, I’ll be pleased.

Till then, the review will remain crapola.

at least they are doing something unlike wwell you lot

clamsarehot: So you’re the absolute pinnacle of game reviewing, and everyone who disagrees with you is an idiot? Because that’s not arrogant at all…

Anyway, are we sure this isn’t a joke? Who would go to this over PAX? P.T. Barnum was right; there’s one born every minute.

Very professional writing A+ 10/10.

Idk if this is two years old and Gamestop Expo actually does pale in comparison to other conventions, this is still a tily written article.
