GameStop Ditching PSP Games In 25% Of Stores

Playstation Vita hasn’t exactly set the world on fire, but it has had a rather good start, selling 1.8 million since launching, according to a report by Sony earlier this week. Perhaps it’s time then to let its predecessor, the Sony PSP, begin the long slow journey into retirement. GameStop thinks so at least, because they’ve begin to reduce their stock of PSP Games. In some stores, anyway.

GameStop has opted to pull PSP games from approximately %25 of their stores. A spokesman for GameStop told Kotaku, “The consolidation is occurring to maximize the merchandising space in the smallest 25% of stores. It will also provide a greater assortment in those stores that will continue to carry the category.” Translation: we’re making room for better selling stuff.

Obviously, that better selling stuff wouldn’t be Vita games, since, as Destructoid notes, there aren’t very many of them. My guess: They’re making room for all the quality 3DS games. OHSNAPSON.
