We decided to run the classic simulation method to see how close EA NCAA Football 08 simulates games to the actual outcomes. This season’s BCS Championship is being played at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 7, 2008. The simulation for the National Championship was run three times and the results follow:
Ohio State 24
LSU 28
Ohio State 56
LSU 21
Ohio State 38
LSU 25
As you can see, our simulation shows Ohio State winning 2/3 games and outscoring LSU by an average of 14.6 points. Sorry LSU fans. It looks like Ohio State is the favorite in this match-up according to our simulation. Most betting experts are currently favoring OSU by 5 points. Don’t worry about this simulation being biased. I am a Virginia Tech and Penn State fan, so if there was a way for both teams to lose, I’d definitely go that route.
