GDC 08: Kiss Your Time Goodbye – Peggle XBLA to Have Downloadable Levels

Peggle in its current form on PC is one of the most addictive things I’ve ever played. And it doesn’t help that it comes in the form of a cute little casual game that will have you telling yourself you’re only going to play for “five more minutes.” (See Jeff Green’s editorial in the latest issue of Games for Windows mag to understand exactly what I’m talking about.) An Xbox Live Arcade version of the game is, again, perfectly poised to sap all of my free time, and time where I should already be doing something like eating, working, and other mandatory tasks.
We know Peggle on Xbox Live Arcade will have some sort of multiplayer mode. The details are unknown, but it doesn’t bode well for those who treasure their spare time. Now, 1UP brings word from the floors of GDC that Peggle will also be the recipient of downloadable levels, although developer PopCap is unsure as to whether these levels will be free or how much they’d cost if they were to become premium content.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have something I need to Alt-Tab back to…
