Gearbox Already Considering Borderlands 3 Possibilities

It makes sense, given that Borderlands 2 has garnered a ton of praise, a huge amount of players and, undoubtedly, a buttload of money. So Gearbox is surely thinking about the next game in the Borderlands series.

During an interview on Revision 3, Borderlands 2 lead writer Anthony Burch talked about the possibility of a third game. He was coy about the situation, saying that some thought has been given to that possibility, and that he hopes to go forward with it.

But from a writing standpoint, Burch says he was careful not to metaphorically paint himself into a corner in terms of story.

“The thing about game design is that it’s so fluid, things can just change all the time,” Burch said. “So, you don’t want to get too specific, because then you’re like, ‘Oh, crap, I gotta write myself out of this hole that I thought would be a really cool idea two years ago.’ I could just Looper myself and punch myself in the d–k for having stupid ideas.”

It’s a fun interview, and we can safely intuit that Borderlands 3 will be a thing sometime, I think. So here’s a question for you guys: what would you suggest Gearbox do differently with a third entry in to the series?

I would quite enjoy maybe some flying vehicles (maybe space) and some zero-g stuff, on a space station for example.
