Gears of War: Judgment – Buckethead Locust Easter Egg
If you’ve always wanted to see the Locust Horde with ridiculous smiley-face buckets on their heads, Gears of War: Judgment is happy to oblige with this bizarre easter egg. Seeing this moment of insanity requires a few steps, and even features original dialogue as the team comments on the development. You’d (maybe) never guess how to see this one, so check out the full text guide below for step-by-step instructions.
This classy secret isn’t new to the Gears of War series. Every game was packed with these, especially Gears 3 — we were able to find Golden Chickens, Cluckshots, broken assembly lines, new beards, and sawed-off chicken arcade cabinets. No doubt there will be even more to find in Judgment, so drop us a comment if you’ve found something amazing.

Buckethead Locust Easter Egg
To see Locust with buckets on their heads, start the Aftermath Campaign and load Section 5 -Straight to the Top.
Climb the stairs, fight through the Oneshot snipers. During the shootout, look in one of the windows in the top left to find a bucket in the window. Shoot the bucket. You’ll need to find and shoot three of these to see the easter egg.
Later you’ll need to handle more enemies arriving by grappling hooks. Once the Locust are taken care of, the team will climb down through a collapsed floor and you’ll have able to explore an office with a secret door.
In the entrance hall to the office, you’ll see a dead Locust with a smiley-face bucket on its head. That’s two buckets down.
The next bucket is found in a room with a TV showing static. Look left of the TV to see the bucket. Take the stairs up to the roof where Baird cuts open the doors.
On the rooftops, the Locust will now appear with smiley-face buckets on their heads. Baird isn’t too pleased with this development. One of the team yells, “Oh… what the hell is going on here?” to which Baird groans “Ugh, Easter Eggs!”
