Gears of War Movie Will Need a Reboot

Back when Underworld director/Die Hard-defiler Len Wiseman was on the Gears of War movie, it was gonna cost $100 million. Now that he’s off the movie, it’s gonna have to cost less, says Cliffy B at Comic-Con, because somebody finally realized that spending $100 million on a hard-R action movie based on a video game with no sex is silly. Sex is important. So now they’re gonna go “more like District 9,” which was a hard-R action movie with no sex that didn’t cost much money but looked like it did. And making a movie that doesn’t cost a lot of money and having it look like it did is what we in the biz call “the secret to success.”

BONUS BIZ TERM THAT WILL MAKE YOU SOUND SMART: “development hell,” which is what the Gears of War movie is currently in.

Gears of War movie is just what we need. Because when I think of Gears of War, I think: “Man, what a great story.”
