Geometry Wars Waves Not a “Full Retail Product”

pgr4-boxart.jpgThose of you that were holding out on picking up PGR4, hoping that Geometry Wars Waves would eventually find its way to the Xbox Live Arcade can pretty much kiss that dream situation goodbye. Bizarre Creations has said that Waves is simply an Easter Egg for PGR4, and that it isn’t a full-blown game – and considering that Geometry Wars is bigger than PGR, it wouldn’t make sense to have Geometry Wars 2 be a mini-game.

“Waves is just a sort of throwback to where Geometry Wars came from originally – it’s an Easter Egg in a game, it’s one game mode, it’s something that you’ll play again and again to beat your high score, but it’s not a full retail product,” said community and web lead Ben Ward.

Design manager Gareth Wilson added, “I think as well that Geometry Wars as an IP has outgrown Gotham, and it’s almost a little bit odd to put a full blown version of Geometry Wars in PGR because it’s actually bigger than a mini-game now.

“So we put Waves in because it’s a good laugh, but it’s left the nest really.”
