Germany Censors Dead Space 2, Delaying It to February

German players won’t see Dead Space 2 until February because the German government isn’t happy about the possibility of accidentally shooting human players when you mean to shoot monsters.

So Visceral Games and Electronic Arts are basically being censored — since shooting formerly human monsters is fine, but accidentally shooting teammates is not, according to the country’s officials.

Apparently, the change is pretty minimal. Single-player and multiplayer content remain unchanged, but the friendly fire option in the game‘s multiplayer mode is not allowed.

Allow me not to make the very obvious comment about history, violence, shooting humans accidentally or otherwise, and the total lack of video games before 1945.
