Getting Into the Wrath of the Lich King Beta May Require a Time Machine

Want to get into the the Wrath of the Lich King beta test for World of Warcraft? Then it looks like you have two options at this point: either get yourself into the “Opt-In program” Blizzard has going on or build a time machine to take yourself back to last year’s Blizzcon or the 2008 Worldwide Invitational (if your mom won’t let you travel more than a month back in time). At those two events, it seems attendees were given some mysterious serial keys, but weren’t told what they were for. Well it took them almost a year, but now Blizzard has revealed that those keys will give you access to the Wrath of the Lich King beta. If you still have a key, they’re urging you register it immediately to guarantee your access. And if you threw it away some time over the past few months, believe me when I say, “Dude, that really sucks.”

And…why is this news again?

Its news because this is a gaming website, ALL gaming.

I think you want

And just a little fact? World of warcraft has more players than any game you can name. So stop whining and face the facts noob.

Boasting that you play a game with massive amounts of other gamers doesn’t make you special or give you boasting rights, Richard – it just makes you one of the mindless droning masses.

And just because you like to point out the mindless drones doesn’t make you any less of a tool. No where did he point out that he played, more that it has more players than any other MMO. Here’s a bit of constructive criticism: Learn to read.

Richard…I play WoW. But it still doesn’t make this news.

It is news if you were given one of those serials. Not all news can cater to every single person Matt.

Oh…sorry…I didn’t express myself clearly enough. This has been known for months. The Blizzcon and Blizzard Invitation scratch off things both says “Beta Key for Future Blizzard Title.”

These have been selling for months on eBay. This may have been news a couple of months ago (for the Blizzard Invitational, even further back for Blizzcon) but right now anyone who just happens to have attended one of these events would undoubtedly have realized/head about this.

Matt, this is news because it was never said exactly what Future Blizzard Title would be until recently. A TON of people assumed it would be for StarCraft II (funny, though, how often do single player games offer public beta testing, whether it be open or closed?). Plus, though it wasn’t announced back during Blizzcon 2007, there was still always the possibility of Diablo III. Blizzard does more than just World of Warcraft, you know.
