GF Podcast 27: Microsoft Drops Kinect, E3 Rising
The big news this week comes out of Xbox One territory, where Microsoft has finally realized the wisdom of dropping the Kinect 2.0 from being bundled in with its console.
That means a $100 price drop for the Xbox One that finally puts it on even footing with Sony’s Playstation 4. While it’s sad to see the Kinect go, in some ways, it‘s not the end of the device or of innovation in this new generation of console hardware. We dive into that topic, the future of the Xbox One and the consoles wars, and how Sony will respond, on this week’s podcast.
We also discuss a few other interesting tidbits, like strategies we expect to see from the big console players at E3 2014, which is fast approaching. On our radars this week was The Walking Dead Season 2′s third episode, which is awesome, and the fact that Take Two mentioned in its financials that Rockstar will have a new game out by the end of the fiscal year. What could it be? We take some stabs in the dark (but it’s probably a PC port of Grand Theft Auto V).
