Gigglesnort. 3D Realms Is Crowdfunding A New Game
Apparently, 3D Realms wasn’t destroyed by the parade of horrors that was the execrable Duke Nukem Forever after all, because it, or at least, the name 3D Realms, is still chugging along, and now they’re trying to make a comeback the old fashioned way – by
begging for money attempting a crowdsourced game. They’re not using Kickstarter, oddly enough, but instead have turned to a European knockoff site called Gambitious. You know, because gambling + addiction. No, Wait, gamble + ambition. You know, either way sounds pretty bad.
Anyway, the game in question is a 3D FPS called Earth No More. Eurogamer is reporting that the game won’t actaully be made by 3D Realms, or whatever this entity using the name is; instead, a mystery 3rd party developer will be handling it. So yeag, super duper totally on the level.
OK, I kid, a little bit. Gambitious is actually an interesting idea. What differentiates it from Kickstarter is that donors have the chance to be investors as well, which is to say, a contributor could earn a little money from kicking in some scratch. Though don’t do it here. We don’t want to encourage them.
