Glen Schofield Wants Your Help Boosting Modern Warfare 3′s Low Metacritic User Score

Sledgehammer Games co-founder and GM Glen Schofield tweeted earlier this evening asking Call of Duty fans to help save Modern Warfare 3′s abysmally low Metacritic user score.

Here’s the full tweet, which appears to have been recently deleted:

I don’t usually do this but, if u like MW3 go 2 Metacritic.com & help our user score. It’s suspiciously low. Be honest but help if u agree.

Schofield spent his next couple tweets defending this request against aggressive douchebags and general player haters, who called him out for “begging.” Here’s one such douchetastic tweet, with Schofield’s response:

Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with a developer asking people who enjoyed his game to go and give it a good score. That seems like a perfectly logical and honest thing to request of your fans. Glen, haters are just always going to hate, man.

But what do you guys think–was Schofield begging? Do you guys see anything wrong with this request? Do you think Modern Warfare 3 honestly deserves a 1.5/10?

here’s a hint, Glen: don’t ask people to pay $60 for what essentially is a re-skinned map pack. Come on, did you even try on this one? Same old graphics, same old, MP experience even the same old bugs. Yup, totally deserves the 1,5 points it got.

You’d think if people enjoyed the game they would already have rated it higher by themselves?

Rather then asking ”Guyz plz gief high3r zocre plox?” he should maybe asking ”Why are we getting such a low score here guys?”

So to answer the question if your stupid enough to go and ask for higher score then you deserve the low score you got.

WOW – all the MW series haters are in here. To the comment of a reskinned map pack, have you even played the game? There are improvements and additions to everything, even the maps have more going on in them. to the Angry gamer – same old MP, no, I ask you, have you played the game…they have added a couple new mp modes, plus if you want to really test yourself and play hardcore, just about every mode is now in Hardcore, thats an improvement over all the other games.

warp – maybe your right, or maybe they don’t care, or maybe the MW3 haters filled the score before the game even came out. I have seen this on other sites. It all doesn’t matter anyhow. The game sold more then it did last time and to the haters its whats cool to do.

for the oringal story, I see nothing wrong with asking those that like the game to help it out and let people know. I personally think everyones too busy playing the game to post a score on a site

I don’t usually do this but, if u don’t like MW3 and you miss Jason West & Vance Zampella go 2 Metacritic.com & help lower the user score. We don’t want it suiously too high for Schofield. Be honest but help if u agree…

SERIOUSLY SCHOLFIELD? YOU PRODUCED/SOLD YET ANOTHER ING COD SEQUEL, WITH MP RE-SKINS AND MAP PACK 8 GAMES LATTER, AND ALL OF THEM MOSTLY WITHIN YEARS APART FROM EACH OTHER! CAN YOU SAY “REDUNDANCY”? GTFO!

this is pretty pathetic imo. He doesn’t give a crap, the game made millions and his bonus check is on the way. he’s just hoping for a bigger bonus check while he suckers millions more out of their $60 plus a dumb investment of $50 for Elite. i bought the game and i gotta say they barely did anything, this coming from a guy thats played Rage, Assassin’s Creed, Uncharted 3 which were also $60 bucks. what i noticed is my money went further in those games, the developers went out of their way to make a better sequel thats worth $60. they didn’t just rehash the same game and add a couple of new modes, everything is better. BUT, if you feel that your money was well spent in this game, ur awesome and probably doing something right.

I have played Call of Duty series since ’03. I loved the innovation each one brought to the table when they came out.
1. Call of Duty 2003- PC = WW2 setting with fast paced action, great maps…
2. Call of Duty 2 2005- PC = They added new ways of movement..Like prone, and lean and the beginning of large scale multiplayer warfare (upto 32, then bumped to 64, yes Call of Duty…). Added more modes, like Search and Destroy.
3. Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2007 – (CoD3 wasn’t made for PC) Major innovation in gameplay. Killstreaks, Modern Day with weapon adjustments and upgrades, Updated engine, Vehicle combat (on rails). Great map design.
4. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 2009 – Updated version of Modern Warfare 1…..

Then the real Infinity Ward leaves…

You get Black Ops, which used an outdated engine by Treyarch, the Killstreaks are the same, but changed the names and animation , Nuke to dogs… nothing really else

Then Modern Warfare 3… Basically the same game as Modern Warfare 1, with even more outdated graphics… The only true innovation? Instead of Killstreaks, you get a pointstreak, which in my honest opinion, made it even more easy mode for the people that cant get their outlandish killstreaks without dying. No dedicated servers, and they tacked on another 50 to 80 for the elite service access which is basically the website access style that CoD: World at War had… for free…minus the mappacks that you would or would not buy in the future…

Let’s add it up, 60$ for game + 50$ for “elite” service, for an outdated, same run of the mill game that had the same gamestyle and almost feeling of a great game that came out in 2007… for $110 bucks..

So, who are the douchebags again?

how about instead of asking others to increase the sacore of your game, you ask yourself how you can increase the quaity of the game yourself.

first than anything, i havent played MW3, maybe i wont in a long time since i already bought my battlefield and im waiting to save some money for skyrim, i’ld like to try MW3 in the future though. BUT if Schofield is beggin, then all android producers (its just an example), are beggers too since they always ask to rate their app and give the vibe they deserve. if schofield wants players to rate a game he and his team put effort for a long time he is in his complete right to defend his creation, still i expect to be judged accordingly with the effort and finish of his product, but actually the creation should speak for itself and dont need this publicity from the creator. just my humble tough
