Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising’s Scout Class is a Classical Rogue

 

Gods and Heroes does one thing right, when it comes to MMORPG’s — it has an original setting. The ancient, mythical Mediterranean is infinitely preferable another carbon-copy fantasy setting, and the game‘s developers deserve credit just for that bit of imagination.

The same credit can’t quite be extended, unfortunately, to the game’s new Scout class, which seems to embody the RPG Ranger/Rogue archetype with only a few alterations (notably, a period-appropriate sling). I chuckled a little when the dual-wielded daggers came out, as if that was some shocking reveal. I can’t be sure that’s not what the people demanded, though, so who am I to criticize the game’s developer’s really. Judge the Scout class for yourself, via the trailer below.
