GOG.com’s Shutdown Promo: Furlough to Free Games

Government shutdown? Sounds like the perfect time for furloughed employees to play some games.

GOG.com is here to help in that effort, offering seven government-themed titles for free to anyone who can prove they’ve been furloughed. It’s called the GOG.com Shutdown Promo, and it even throws non-government employees a bone.

The Guild, Capitalism Plus, Capitalism 2, Tropico: Gold Edition, Alpha Centauri + Alien Crossfire, Theme Hospital, and Redneck Rampage (LOL) can be yours, gratis, if you send an email to thanksobama@gog.com (you’re on a roll, GOG.com) with your picture holding the official furlough letter you received, before Friday, October 11 at noon Eastern.

Not on Uncle Sam’s payroll? You can still get a good deal. All seven of the above games are 50% off, and the entire Shutdown Promo bundle can be yours for $25.

So stay inexplicably stupid, federal legislators. We’ve got some free games to play.

I love that Theme Hospital is on there. Good job GTA isn’t offered, though.
