Grab Your Gun, Arma 3′s Release Has Been Dated
Bohemia Interactive revealed today the release date for Arma 3. Dated for September 12, the game will be exclusive to the PC platform and see release through Steam and Bohemia’s online store for $44.99.
To celebrate the countdown to the game’s launch, Bohemia Interactive is hosting a live stream on their official Twitch.tv channel that will be broadcast on Saturday, August 10 at 17:000 UTC. The hour-long stream will reveal to viewers what they have in store for would-be buyers with the Arma 3 release package.
A few days ago, Bohemia Interactive revealed that Arma 3 will be released at a later date due to difficulties during production. Arma 3 will still be out this September, but the campaign content will only be launched as three separate DLC episodes shortly after the release of the core title. The DLC will be free.
“By releasing the expansive platform and adding the free campaign in 3 separate DLC episodes shortly thereafter, players as well as mod-makers will be able to get their hands on the full game as soon as possible, and take on the complete military package in Arma 3’s massive sandbox.”
“This was not a decision we made lightly,” said Joris-Jan van ‘t Land, Project Lead. “As game creators, we love developing and playing through campaigns so, to those awaiting ours, we say: sorry for the delay. After talking a lot about a focus on quality over the last year, it simply did not feel right to compromise now.
“Rather than pushing back the entire game, we launch this year with an awesome package – a splendid kick off for the Arma 3 experience.”
