Gran Turismo 5 To Get Premium Car Updates, Monthly Additions

If you’ve played Gran Turismo 5 at all, then you that of the 1000+ cars in the game, only 20% are “premium” models. Rendered in painstaking detail, the Premium cars are a joy to look at. It’s too bad there aren’t more of them, right?

Well, it looks like there soon will be. According to Japan’s Weekly Famitsu magazine, Kazunori Yamauchi does in fact have plans to upgrade some standard cars to premium. “Among the standard cars are some historical classics, and we plan on remaking them as premium cars,” said Yamauchi.

Yamauchi also said that he hopes to have one update every month, and another large update later this month. This second December update (the first was on Dec. 7) will start the GT Academy with online time trial rankings in the US, and for those of you in Europe, the “SLSL Challenge” tournament. The winner of the SLSL Challenge will drive off in a real Mercedes SLS AMG.

GT5 fans, it looks like you’ve got a lot to look forward to.

wow I guess, that sounds kinda like we were in a rush to get the title out so only did 200 cars, but hey I’m not complaining the game looks great, plays great, and this is just great! That was a close one I just almost peed my self when the article reads “Kazunori Yamauchi does in fact have plans to upgrade some standard cars to premium.”, maybe just a little, I should go change.
