GRID PC Demo Delayed Due to Blackout Issues (UPDATE)

GRIDThe GRID PC Demo that was slated to be launched today has what looks like a serious multiplayer issue. A black screen, dead state has been seen about once an hour in online testing.

Due to this issue, Codemasters has asked FileFront to pull the demo and if you have already downloaded it we apologize for any inconvenience and will keep you updated with the latest news as soon as we have it.

Hopefully a fixed version will be released shortly, so check back often.

We just received word from Codemasters that the PC demo is being fixed and will be up and running sometime Monday morning.

I managed to grab it before it was pulled, and holy wow it’s awesome.

Remember when everyone said “bah those can’t be ingame graphics” when they saw the trailer? Well, they were wrong, those ARE ingame graphics :O

The game runs and looks like a dream on my system, even with MAXED settings (and that’s MAXED as in 16QxAA). Wow. Must-buy for me.

C2D 6300 at 3.2ghz, nv8800GTS 640, 4gb RAM, Vista32, playing at 1680×1050 MAXED, getting 30-35 FPS during the game (all cars visible), dipping into 20-25 with lots and lots of smoke on screen. I had one sub-20 scene during a replay, but that was when 3 cars crashed and did donuts all over the place. The engine is running so damn smooth, it’s almost sickening.

Awesome on the 360 too. I like the damage modeling, that’s really nice.

Is the damage as good as Flatout 2?
