World of Warcraft: 5.1 Battle Pets Guide
When Blizzard dropped Patch 5.1 for WoW it came with a lot of content and none more anticipated than new battle pets. Thirty-eight new ones have been introduced with this patch, spread far and wide, to be gained through a number of different ways. Game Front has gone through the terrible trouble of tracking down them all for you, loyal reader. Not for ourselves. No, not at all. Well, maybe we wanted our own Mr. Bigglesworth to snuggle with. Don’t judge.
Win A Prize At The Faire
The Darkmoon Faire gets relevant again, this time with a number of new battle pets you can only obtain when the Faire appears for one brief week on its island on the first Sunday of every month.
- Darkmoon Eye (Magic) – possible reward from finishing the daily pet battle quest with the new master pet tamer at the Faire, Jeremy Feasel. The pet tamer is sporting three level 25 epic pets, so be ready with your A game. As with all daily quests at the Faire, this will cost you a Darkmoon Game Token to participate.
- Crow (Flying) and Darkmoon Glowfly (Flying) – both can be found roaming Darkmoon Island and can be captured in battle.
- Darkmoon Hatchling (Critter) – this miniature, purple forest strider is purchasable for 90 Darkmoon Prize Tickets from the Faire’s mounts and pets vendor Lhara. Better start working on your dart throwing skills. Those carnival balloons aren’t going to pop themselves.
Tailored Pets For Every Occasion
Two new pets, the Imperial Silkworm (Critter) and Imperial Moth (Flying), are created by Tailors weaving Imperial Silk. Tailors have a random chance to make one of these, but with no word yet on the exact odds of producing one of these beauties. Both are Bind on Equip so you may be able to find them on Auction House as well.
Pandaren Elemental Pets In All Four Flavors
A new quest in Pandaria sends you to defeat all four elemental Pet Tamers. The reward for winning is your choice of a Pandaren Earth, Air, Fire or Water battle pet. After that, you can only get the other three as a chance to drop from the reward of redoing this as a daily quest. Alliance players can be sent on this daily quest by Sara Finkleswitch in Shrine of Seven Stars while Horde players should seek out Gentle San in the Shrine of the Two Moons.
Rock’em Sock’em Rats
Those rich enough, uh, I mean lucky enough to get an invite into the Brawler’s Guild can fight their way up to Rank 4 to purchase Clock’em (Mechanical), a mechanized Tyler Durden homage. And the PvP’ers among us get some love with the Sumprush Rodent (Beast) that requires 2000 commendations from the new Krasarang Wilds PvP hub.
