Guild Wars 2 – Flame & Frost: The Razing
The latest content update for Guild Wars 2 will be coming soon on March 26. The story behind Flame and Frost: The Razing will be centering around a faction dubbed the Molten Alliance. This hybrid alliance out of the Shiverpeaks between the dredge and the charr Flame Legion has created a force so strong as to completely demolish anyone that plans to get in their way.
Live story updates
Two new story lines are being added. In one, players will be joining a young norn named Braham as he fends off the Molten Alliance and tries to help his people. In the second, a charr ranger named Rox is being sent out on a mission of mercy by Rytlock Brimstone.
Other features include new guild challenges and helpful heralds being added. There are now three new bounty targets available for players to pursue and these training missions sound like a great way for smaller sized or new guilds to wet their feet in. Heralds in Diessa Plateau and Wayfarer Foothills will help returning players that have been out of the loop for a while guide them to where all the new action is at.
Several PvP updates have been made. First, A new World vs World progression system is being added. Additional new Ranks can be used to purchase new titles and abilities that are available exclusively in WvW. Updates to the Achievement panel will help players track progress. Second, there has been some concern regarding player visibility in large battles. Namely, it was almost impossible to see players attacking you because their player models were not always appearing at once. This was due to a system in place called culling (which made certain players invisible). Culling is being removed so players can now face their attackers and (hopefully) respond in kind. Lastly, a new leaderboards feature is being added. It won’t be visible right away until the information it gathers is deemed stable. Expect it to take no more than week for leaderboards to be fully functional. The leaderboards will show WvW rankings, PvP player rankings, and achievement points.
