Guild Wars 2′s ‘Living Story’ Gets Updated, Guild Missions Incoming

ArenaNet has released details of the next part of the Flame and Frost “Living Story” for Guild Wars 2, the first of which went live in an update late last month. The so-called “Living Story” is set to affect the face of the game’s world, Tyria, with changes based on player actions and interactions.

The next update, titled The Gathering Storm, is the second installment to the four-part series and sees battles raging in the foothills of the Shiverpeaks. It is set to contain a host of new content including new PvP map called Spirit Watch, which is set in a green vale nestled between cliffside shrines; and two team rated play in PVP, in which two teams of equal average rating are pitted against each other in a quick match.

Guild Missions are also coming to Guild Wars 2, allowing entire guilds of players to take on a new category of content designed for coordinated group play. These include everything from bounties to group puzzles and cross-county challenges. Completing these missions will reward players with new Guild Merits, which can be used to unlock special upgrades and rewards.

Finally, the update will have a “Choose Your Own Daily Achievements” allowing players to select which daily challenges they wish to accomplish and the content they wish to be rewarded for playing.

The update will be out before the end of the month.
