Guild Wars State of the Game: Equipping for PVP

concept-031-page.jpgThis weeks State of the Game Article over on the Guild Wars main site deals with outfitting your character to the gills for PvP battles. The author points out that while the game is based mostly around skill selection in combat that players should not overlook the advantages offered by equipment to tilt the scales.

Here are just a few of the suggestions on wand use:

“Casters have their own considerations to make when selecting gear. Monks tend to use Enchantments that would benefit from the 20% duration increase from an Enchanting mod. Casters often bring spells that benefit from the quick cast or recharge of inscriptions such as “Aptitude Not Attitude” and “Forget Me Not.” Setting up a weapon swap with a wand and focus that both provide a 20% chance at halving cast time and halving recharge time means that, on a Monk for example, Gift of Health can cast or recharge faster 36% of the time.”

Other highlights include choosing weapons qualities and learning how best to balance health, armor and energy.
