One industrious modder by the name of “cyberpyrot” decided his little plastic Guitar Hero controller didn’t make him enough of a nerd. So he decided to rip it apart and fit a 7″ LCD screen inside so he could see the game‘s chords on the guitar as they passed by. The guitar is strummed using a magnetic pick that triggers a magnetic swith inside the body. To top it all off, he even added a touch screen, so the whammy bar can be controlled by sweeping your fingers across it. He modded the PS3 guitar, but found it easier to implement video using the Xbox 360′s outputs. Later, he plans to add some optics to the LCD, so the guitar will be able to play itself. He also may or may not throw in some AI, legs, and a laser gun, eventually leading to line of robot guitar people who will enslave humanity with heavy metal and the world’s best pyrotechnics show.
