'Guitar Hero IV' Possibly Coming This Year? British Band Says Yes
Take this as a rumor until we get actual confirmation folks. Now that I have give you fair warning, read on.
According to a British band called “The Answer”, rabid Guitar Hero fans can expect Guitar Hero IV to hit consoles by the end of 2008. The band has issued a press release informing the public that its song “Never Too Late” will be featured in the song line-up. This illustrious honor was bestowed upon the band when it was picked out at the annual Marché International de l’édition Musicale (Midem Conference) which was held at the end of January in Cannes, France.
During the conference, more than 200 songs were submitted by different music companies, and Activision chose 20 of them to appear in Guitar Hero IV. The Answer should be very happy about this because the Guitar Hero franchise’s downloadable content has boosted participating bands’ sales in the past. Bang Camero anyone?
“This is a tremendous honour and privilege for both The Answer and the Alberts label,” said James Cassidy, UK boss of music label Alberts. With a new album due later this year we look forward to taking the band to a whole new level of international success.”
The Answer is a hard rock and blues rock band from the UK who have achieved moderate success with their debut album “Rise”which has sold in excess of 30,000 copies in the UK & Europe, 10,000 on day one in Japan and 100,000 worldwide on the whole.
Yes, it is great news that Guitar Hero IV is in the works, but anyone with a brain knows that Activison has probably been at work on their latest cash-cow since GHIII, especially since they have said as much. But, let’s not have a coronary until official word comes from Activision Blizzard who is keeping mum about The Answer’s slip of the tongue for the time being.
