Hacker Evolution: A Non-Game

Hacker Evolution Gameplay Movie

There’s a new trailer and demo up for Hacker Evolution, a hacking simulator. Frankly though, just from watching the video, I wouldn’t have known this was meant to be a game if someone hadn’t told me. My closest guess would’ve been that this was the senior presentation of a World Politics major. Apparently you’re supposed to take on the role of an intelligence agent, solving some sort of international crisis. Personally I’d prefer to take on the role of someone playing a more interesting game.

lol this looks awful, if you want to play a good hacking simulator stick with the classic “Uplink”. Sure its got some years on it but it looks a lot better than this one.

well then go and play one then, instead of posting pointless messages whiling away your life.

    is that hypocritical???

Hmm, me thinks both OP and reveiwer should try something original. Want me to spell that for you, I know originality is going out of fashion, but lets not go down without a fight.

Played the demo, and immediately went out and hacked the creators file server and nicked the source code… well, alright, I bought the full version. Its a damn fun game. Yes it requires thought, yes, being able to type coherently is a boon, and yes, its not graphically pan-dimensional. But its a cerebral challenge, and I LIKE THAT.

on the tutorial level just drain the atm of $1000 until you’ve got every objective but the 50% trace, then drain the rest of the money, upgrade to a level 3 firewall, then killtrace twice. the next level should be a snap.

You’re supposed to hack into ny-exchange.com port 99. Type ls, then it will show the connection.log file is present. Then just type download connection.log

just wish there were more resources for this game, more of a cult following and a sphere of forumhood.

atm.ce-bank.com i think is level 2.. otherwise just get a memory editor and set your money to whatever.. or set your trace to 0% :)
