Hacker Takes Credit For DDOSing DOTA 2, LoL, EA.com

A Twitter person(s) named @DEerpTrolling has started some sort of feud with Twitcher PhantomL0rd, and according to a reddit thread took down or attempted to take down servers for the games he was streaming for a couple hours this afternoon. There is some residual evidence of this, as EA.com is not loading, and portions of the League of Legends forums are experiencing “Unscheduled Downtime.”

Meanwhile, battle.net, LoL, DOTA 2 and Origin are all functional despite website errors persisting. But PhantomL0rd continues to stream (LoL at the moment), and so there may be continuing drama this evening. Video games. We’ll continue to look into this.
