Halo 2 and Shadowrun – Now On XP!
Have you been wanting to play Halo 2 and Shadowrun on your PC, but you’re wary of the Vista upgrade? Wouldn’t it be great if those titles were available on XP? Well, Falling Leaf Systems agrees with you.
In a press release today, Falling Leaf Systems announced their intention to provide compatibility software that would allow Windows XP users to play both Halo 2 and Shadowrun. You can preorder either title immediately through the company’s website. Any preorders will be fulfilled by Amazon, and Falling Leaf is promising anyone who preorders either title through their site a free copy of the compatibility software when it becomes available in a few months.
Falling Leaf Systems CEO Brian Thomason said, “Microsoft has, in typical Microsoft fashion, decided to launch their forced migration onslaught in full force with the release of two games that will only run on Windows Vista. First they claim that it was impossible to implement DirectX 10 compatibility atop Windows XP, and now they also want us to believe that they couldn’t successfully launch two DirectX 9 based titles on XP either. We plan to expose both theories as patently false.”
This is definitely a case of a little guy taking on Microsoft. I wonder what the Redmond response will be to this. What do you guys think?
