Halo 3 Release May Keep Halo Movie Plans Alive

It’s definitely possible that Halo 3 will generate enough buzz for Universal to reconsider the project as a film. Of course with Peter Jackson behind the scenes, they aren’t going to half ass this thing, so the budget will continue to be a major issue. Personally, I find it foolish on the part of the studios. This fall, Halo 3 will probably be one of the biggest events. For no one to tape into the story for a film would be a shame. I have a feeling that if we don’t hear news of the project coming back by this fall, then it will probably never happen. It’s great news that Peter Jackson is still thinking about it, but we definitely need more than just thoughts.

Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh say once again that they will not continue with the Halo 3 film without director Neill Blomkamp in an interview on Onfilm Magazine.

Halo 3 has been delayed thus far due to budget issues and the choice of Neill Blomkamp as director. Blomkamp has previously directed commercials and short films.

Jackson and Walsh are hopefully that with the release of Halo 3, 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures will re-consider the project.
