Halo 3 Xbox 360 Accessories and Messenger Kit Available September 4

xbox360_chatpad.jpg

This Tuesday, we’ll finally be able to get our hands on the Xbox 360 Chatpad; the Messenger Kit will run you $29.99 and also includes a specially-designed headset that plugs into the bottom of the chatpad, which takes up the slot where a wired headset would normally be plugged in. The chatpad is backlit and from what I hear, doesn’t obstruct the way you hold the controller at all.

Also available on September 4 are two Halo 3-themed accessories for the Xbox 360, which are being dubbed “Limited Edition.” Microsoft did not have any numbers for us, but my guess is that supply with meet demand.

Of course, you may or may not care, as one of the items is the infamously bad wireless headset. This Halo 3-themed item has the Spartan green and gold colors, and will go for the standard wireless headset price of $59.99.

The second item, the wireless controller, comes in two flavors, both designed by Todd McFarlane. One features the Brute, and the other, the Master Chief. Both controllers come with a Master Chief figurine also designed by McFarlane. These controllers will be more expensive than their standard brethren, probably because of the inclusion of the figurine – $59.99 is the asking price.

So, does any of this interest you, or do you simply see this as a money-making scheme on the part of Microsoft. It strikes me as a little of both; Microsoft makes money, and diehard Halo fans can accessorize to their hearts’ content.

Sorry, but pure unadulterated ‘lol’. Why did they even bother with a Brute controller when EVERYBODY clearly would want Master Chief to be staring back at them. Sales of the MC to Brute controller will be something in the region of 100:1, at least.

No thanks on that over sized ugly controller… :???:

License to ill, it’s actually an attachment that plugs into the bottom of the controller.

@ Joelton,
maybe because of something we don’t know about yet in the plot that involves Brutes and such. Maybe a Brute will be one of our new best friends in Halo-3 like the Arbiter was in Halo-2. Now there’s a spooky thought, eh ?

Such a thught worries me…a Brute and MC friends? Heh, well I guess we didn’t think of it the same with an Elite and MC. Then again, from the E3 vid, it didn’t look as if MC and The Arbiter were entirely on friendly grounds (what with the Chief holding a pistol to the bottom of the Arbiter’s head and all). I still think the Master Chief one will completely out-sell the Brute one.

I think you’re right about the MC one outselling the Brute one 100:1, I was just trying to come up with a reason as to why they’d put out a Brute one at all. You’d think an Arbiter one would have made more sense considering the story so far.

hey. is it just me or has anyone else bought the controls and got a black masterchief figurine with it? even the guy at the store was reluctant to give it to me cuz he said it was the only one they saw in their shipments.

skibble

I got a black one too, the guy said was a “mispaint” and they are really rare. I tried googling it and this was the only thing I found that mentioned it.

Hey, just wanted to know how much would the controller be worth if master chief is all black. Because I bought my controller and master chief came all black and I have never open the plastic in which the controller comes.
